Rooftop Deck With Privacy Fence & Lounge

This newlywed couple wanted to transform their rooftop deck into a versatile space for their weeknight activities and for hosting gatherings and game nights. They already had a spacious rooftop with synthetic decking and a tall cedar fence that provided privacy. However, the fence only provided a visual barrier to the space, but not a physical one. We extended the fence, added a gate for privacy and structural support, and replaced the existing cedar with treated stained cedar to add warmth.

We designed the rooftop deck in zones with a designated area for golf practice, highlighted by strand lights and a cabinet with a dartboard. The main entertaining area features a faux boxwood TV wall, an overhead shade structure, outdoor furniture, and a fire pit.

To create a warm ambience, we installed top-down sconces along the fence to provide soft lighting without overwhelming the space.
