Backyard Paver Patio, Pergola, & Dining
These new homeowners wanted to upgrade their big backyard so they could start hosting their family and friends during the warmer months. The long stretch of grass lacked a defined area to help divide the space. These clients requested a low-maintenance patio addition, opting for concrete 2’x2′ pavers in groups of 4 in order to maximize the amount of solid ground. The pavers are contrasted with an inlay of 1/4″ blue stone chip that add a subtle texture and a bit of color.
Second, we installed the metal and treated wood pergola to separate their entertaining area from their dining area. The slatted screen on the pergola is an architectural feature that adds physical but not visual barriers, keeping the space as open as possible. Since the space is enclosed by 2 long sets of natural blonde wood, we stained the pergola in Benjamin Moore’s Semi Solid Fresh Brew. Natural features of the pergola boards can still show through the stain to tie in with the surrounding fence.
