“AJ, Jorge and their team did a fantastic job transforming my rooftop! AJ was great in the planning phase at listening to my ideas, making additional suggestions and showing me examples of what could be done. They were able to design things to my exact specifications and were very detail oriented throughout the process. The majority of the project was completed in 5 weeks. AJ was always quick to respond to my inquiries, which made the process a breeze. I highly recommend JLV Builders for any project!”
More About Irving Park, Chicago
The Irving Park neighborhood, named after author Washington Irving, started in 1843 when Major Noble purchased land and established a farm. After many years of success, he sold the farm to four men from New York who planned to expand it after purchasing 80 additional acres immediately to the south. The men intended to continue farming, but ultimately decided to divide the land and create a settlement after observing the success of other suburban communities. They created their settlement seven miles from the city.
They negotiated a stop with Chicago and Northwestern Railroad after agreeing to build a train station. The train station is still at the same location and serves Irving Park residents today. Originally, they wanted to name the suburb Irvington, but changed the name after discovering there was already another town in Illinois with the same name. Thus, the settlement became known as Irving Park.
